iPhone 4G Prototype Recovered From a Bar

The details of the new Apple iPhone 4G were released by the Engadget website after an engineer reportedly left a prototype at a bar. The phone was slated for release in the summer months with details about the phone shrouded in secrecy.

Photos of the handset were published online by Engadget website along with specifications of the model. The model was later on sold to Gizmodo website for a handsome sum of money. It was reported that the handset was found on the floor of a bar located either in San Jose or Redwood City California.

The phone was opened up part for part and it was then determined that the handset really was a prototype for the Apple iPhone 4G. Another fact that is in support of this claim is that some time after the device was found, the Phone’s OS, iPhone 4.0, died, and it is believed that Apple HQ must have deactivated it by remote control. Another report that cements the claims of authenticity is that Bruce Sewell, Senior VP and General Counsel for Apple reportedly wrote to Gizmodo asking for the phone back.

The new design is flatter, with MicroSIM slot, a high resolution display and cameras on both front and back sides with an LED flash. However, if the handset turns out to be test-level prototype then the details about the features could just end up being uncertain at this point.
