Picture Westlife and the chances are you’re visualising slow walks to camera, clifftop scenes and matching black suits.
But the boys are back… and this time they’re all revamped and sexy (apparently).
In an interview due to appear in the January issue of Cosmopolitan, the Irish boy band seemed keen to put that clean-cut, boy next door image firmly behind them.
On their new ‘edgy’ image, Mark said: “It’s not that we’re trying to be more edgy. It’s more that we’re going back to who we really are. We’d become too safe.
“And the safer something becomes, the blander it is.”
Mark’s words, not ours.
And on their most rock ‘n’ roll moment, Shane revealed: “We’ve destroyed a lot of hotel rooms. We’re banned from one venue in South Africa.”
Banned? Westlife? Surely not.
He explains: “I was jumping around in my boxer shorts… and I got literally everything thrown at me, including fruit.”
Well no wonder then.
But when it comes to the ladies, the boys are clearly still a little old-fashioned.
When asked about the attire of girlfriend Jodi Albert and her new band, Kian insisted: “Yes, I’ll certainly be very controlling of their image because I think a lot of the girl bands now are way too tarted up.
“If you look at Girls Aloud’s last tour, it’s too over-sexed. Jodi’s is more of a classy catwalk, Gucci look. That’s the sort of sexiness I want to achieve with them.”
