The Magnitude for Selecting Public Liability Insurance

Filed under: Insurance Info — admin @ 8:21 pm

Public liability indemnity is essential for the reason that all businesses are at threat to some degree. Albeit nothing terrible has ever gone on with your companies assets does not promise that it won’t someday. If someone is harmed or their worldly goods missing, it’s your obligation to appropriately repay them. This outlay might be terrifically dear, depending on the specific brand of the case.

Nonetheless, you do have a number of ways to guard yourself against this chance. Picking public liability insurance lets you to breathe more easier. Even if a specific claim is dear, the insurance organisation will be at hand to give a protection net. It is their contractual duty to make sure you are covered from claims & legal costs brought against you. This leaves you available to focus on actually doing business, instead of worrying about what may well happen. Following are a number instances of times when public liability indemnity can come in helpful.

Datacraft Solutions’ unique solution involves three key differences in Digital Kanban:

* All aspects solutions are hosted on Datacraft Solutions’ servers, and backed by Datacraft Solutions infrastructure.

* Datacraft Solutions supports their Digital Kanban solutions. There is no need to pay administrators to maintain the software and/or hardware.

* Datacraft Solutions provides the solutions at low, fixed monthly costs. Companies pay only for what is needed and used, without any hidden costs - and the cost of ownership is easy to calculate and contain.

Datacraft Solutions uses the on-demand delivery model because many of the Kanban solutions used by Fortune 100 and 500 companies are well outside the budget of small to mid-sized companies. Datacraft Solutions provides solutions that allow even the smallest companies to remain competitive, without having to incur costly IT expenses.

Sharing knowledge is also a key new distinction in the Digital Kanban world; as the solutions continue to spread throughout the manufacturing industry, Datacraft Solutions draws upon the insights and experiences of their client base to enhance the functionality of their product offerings.

Datacraft Solutions is applying the lessons of continuous improvement to their platform, making the Digital Kanban implementation more efficient and effective as time goes on. UAV - Terrain Following Technologies

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:57 am

There are many technologies being used today such as ultrasonic sensors, which provide non-contact for solution levels in liquid storage tanks. Using this technology the tanks can use non-corrosive methods to prevent failure of parts. For instance in a fuel tank the bacteria can eat through a 505 (2-inch) think piece of stainless steel in about a week or so. Even plastic, which is made from petroleum products becomes brittle in such environments. So the solution in the various industries is to use sound waves to control switches and float leveling systems. One company in our industry is Compac Engineering which makes all types of “Eracta Switches” like an erector set you build the desired structure or device out of plastic, insert their sensors, plug it in and you are completed. You can know soap levels, waster water levels, freshwater levels using devices, which do not corrode, rust or deteriorate quickly.

These same systems and other systems are used in car washes to guide the car and systems close without touching the car. In the previous decade electronic eyes were used, costly and often failed and each morning a ghost wash was needed to test the system and if the control mechanism failed the unit would touch the practice car and scratch it, ruining the paint. This newer technology is best suited in that it has less moving parts and works very easily with less mechanism for Murphyism and less weight of components a critical issue in UAV operations since payloads are critical.

The best little tiny UAVs which go by another term MAV- Micro Air Vehicles can only carry 9-11 lbs. not much really, but enough to get the job done. Every pound you save adds to the range of the craft for fuel or battery power in the case of many of the UAVs around. Electric MAVs and/or Small UAVs for military purposes are desired since they do not need fuel only setting a switch allowing the chemicals to mix and cause a reation and start the process of making electricity. GPS guided units by satellites are often best for UAV control in that the operator releases or hand launches the unit and lets it go and the satellite guides it by electronic pulses or pinging from satellite within way-points without any rhythm and therefore electronic pulses are not able to be blocked as signals. Without blocking an entire band of frequencies and that takes lots of power and directional awareness of UAV which if autonomous is nearly impossible to find or see and you cannot know where it is since it’s signature is less than the smallest bird.

Also electric is nice if the using terrain following devices, which if ultrasound is used are really inexpensive in the car wash industry will cause a somewhat vertically unpredictable flight pattern of that of a bird, which moves with the currents and updrafts crossing roads or downdrafts crossing creeks and cooler air.

You see the simple instability of the relative wind along with the terrain ultrasonic control system pulling up when it gets close to the ground will look like the flight of a bird, one which you cannot see and you cannot hear if it is electric. For all practical purposes a small delivery system similar to the birds in Harry Potters Book five. The speed of sound is a factor of air temperature and of course air pressure and density but at slower speeds of a UAV is less of a consideration. A tree in the way would be a different signal bounce for sound than the ground, sensors can easily see the difference.

Right now much work is being done on pedestrian radars using sound, which are now available in Europe on cars and soon in US. Most major auto manufacturers have this and if you remember the last Terminator Movie out now the robots, which shoot rotating machine guns use sound to identify targets, the disruption of the returning of the sound waves is recognized by shape and therefore the object is identified. They call this technique windowing. The proximity sensors for car washes use a complex series of ultrasonic sound pulses using emitters and receivers. But the systems can be easily made very simply and relatively weightless. Many animals in nature use such signals to hunt; Bats for instance and Dolphins sonar. You see not too difficult to see why. Easy to use and light-weight. In cold conditions the units, which gather ice could have a bit of a problem however most of the enemies of the US are near the equator, where it is warmer. This system works day or night and in stormy weather when proper filters are used. Another even cooler new technology which has been recently adopted in the car wash industry is “passive ferrous object detection” this technology uses a very simplistic approach which identifies natural local magnetic disturbances in the Earth’s natural magnetic field; another easy system, which can guide a UAV.

Ultrasonic sensors can be solid state or newer chip technology to work. UAVs, which can fly under radars and line of sight around and through trees, like birds and insects are the future of UAV technology. It’s a bird, It’s a plane, no its a UAV. Holly pilot-less RC modeling Batman.

What is a crystal ? And how to test it.

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:20 am

Crystal are use to keep the frequency of the clock from drifting. If the signal from this clock stops, or is weak, or the pulses begin to vary, the electronic equipments might show intermittent faults or might stop altogether. The microprocessor pins that hold the crystal are usually called OSC IN and OSC OUT as shown in Figure 1 and the frequency is marked on the crystal. Typical examples of crystal oscillator frequency are 3.58MHZ, 4MHZ, 8MHZ, 24MHZ etc.

Testing Crystal
Crystals are quite fragile components because of their construction. Unlike a resistor or capacitor, if you drop one on the ground from a decent height, its 50-50 bet whether it will work again. Testing the crystal is not a breeze either. You cannot just take out your trusty multimeter and plug the crystal in it. In fact, there are three right ways to test a crystal: -

(a) Using Oscilloscope
A crystal produces a sine wave when excited. It is appropriate then, to see a waveform representative of a sine wave on the clock pins. If the clock is not functioning properly, replace the crystal. In most cases this should solve the problem since microprocessors are usually very reliable. Check the crystal with power on.

(b) Frequency Counter
Frequency Counter can be use to check the frequency of the crystal. The reading must be taken when the equipment power is switch “on”. Place the probe of frequency counter to the crystal pin and read the measurement. Be sure that your frequency counter meter has the range that is higher than the crystal frequency you are measuring.

(c) Crystal Checker
With this method, usually the crystal is placed in the feedback network of a transistor oscillator. If it oscillates and the LED is lighten up, this mean that the crystal is working. If the crystal doesn’t work, the LED stays off. Instead of using LED, some other crystal checker uses a panel meter to indicate if the crystal is working or not.

THE MAGIC HOME

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:14 am

I would like to tell you about a magic home. You bought a home and fixed it up very nicely. The parquet floors shine brightly, beautiful crystal chandeliers create a special atmosphere inside while fancy landscaping, decorative fountains and waterfalls create an atmosphere outside. Garage door opens to let you out to work in the morning. There is nobody home. Everybody is gone for the day. The house is empty. But you forgot to turn off the light or close the garage door. Turning around and coming back home is not an option…

As you can probably guess, I have never visited Bill Gates at his home. And I probably never will. But all of us, you and I, have read something or heard something about his house. It is of course a large and beautiful house. And of course it is fully programmed and computerized. Most likely we will never be able to afford such a home. But you too could have a computerized home. For some it may simply mean the ability to turn off the forgotten lights or stove from great distance. For others it may be the audio-visual system they always wanted, surround sound, hi-tech equipment hidden in the walls, larger than life plasma screens attached directly to the walls, sound dims out automatically when a phone rings and other such incredible entertainment possibilities. For some it means utilizing state of the art independent power supply motion detectors and hidden cameras that start rolling and call your cell phone number with a coded message if anything larger than a cat starts moving in the house to create security at their home. That is the safety and security for their property, for themselves, for their family and their children. For others, it means the ability to gather all these possibilities together and create a truly smart home, and a fully secure home, responsive to their slightest wish.

All these things are fully within the current technological capabilities, they are not difficult to accomplish, they are not even expensive. The only limit is your imagination. Whatever home automation you can imagine is possible to bring to life at your home.

Your offspring forgot the keys and is locked out of the house? No problem. You dial a code number on your cell phone and your ever so forgetful child gains an entrance to the house. Do you think your ever so forgetful child will now remember to lock the door? Don’t even worry about it. You will lock it yourself without missing a beat at work, all under the affectionate gaze of your favorite boss.

Hawaii! The beach, the sun, no worries! Is that so? Are you not concerned about the safety of your home while you are away? Is the refrigerator still refrigerating? Are the sprinklers sprinkling on time? Is your cat’s autofeeder still doing the job? Needless to say, you can be in full control. All you need to do is dial a code from your cell phone and the smart house will do the rest.

And what about the home security while you are away? Don’t we all ask our neighbors to empty our mailbox and pick up the newspapers from in front of the garage door? Don’t we all have lights on timers to create an illusion that we are home? Nowadays it is done with a laptop or a cell phone. Anybody staking out the house would see the curtains closing at night, lights and music coming on and off in various parts of the house. The house lives its usual evening life. And when most of the respectable citizens retire for the night, the house would quiet down.

Are you interested? Do you have any other problems you would want solved? Come see us at www.hatca.com, we will help you. Together we will think through every scenario that may happen in your life. And we will present you with the ability to run your house no matter where you are and what happens.

You deserve it so we will give you your new smart home as a present. Well, almost. You would be surprised. Call us at (415) 575-9888 and we will give you your new home practically as a present and it will be a better home, a smarter home.

Project Management Basics

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:00 pm

If you have ever had responsibility for managing a project, regardless of how little or how big, you will understand the many nuances and special considerations that have to be taken into account behind-the-scenes. Project management success stories rarely show the struggles, problems or weaknesses of the project or team to the public. One author, Herbert Lovelace, likened this to the kitchen, which “…tends to be cleaned up before it is shown to guests! “

Understanding how projects should be managed or “by the book” methodology is a good reference guide and tool for everyone. But, in order to succeed the project manager must understand the myriad of people, their needs, and the potential problems and issues that need to be tackled before the project can be called successful. In my own experience, project management is a culmination of all the experiences and knowledge I have gained on past projects and is modified based on circumstance. There are, however, some very broad guidelines that can be implemented to help ensure the project stays on track.

1.Identification: make sure the problem, or project purpose, is clearly identified before starting. This is best done by putting the purpose into writing and having the entire team review the text. Next, solicit the team’s agreement to the purpose in a roundtable meeting. This will also help to identify the customer’s concerns and issues that need to be addressed throughout the project and help to stratify the resources and potential conflicts the team may encounter.

2.Preparation: is all about figuring out what to do and how to do it. Although most of us can handle the mechanics of preparation fairly well on an independent basis, it may be more difficult to ensure that all project team members are in agreement. It is advisable to have everyone sign off on what is to be done and his/her role in the project as part of the preparation. People are far more likely to support something that they understand and have had a role in developing. In our organization we use a document, called a Scope of Work agreement, as part of the contracts and negotiation process that details the work to be done on the project. By using this document we can clearly set the project tasks, milestones and timeline before the contracts are finalized. Here’s one tidbit, if you are trying to implement systems, and you can’t explain it easily, don’t implement it!

3.Implementation: just remember, it is always tricky! Try to keep implementation as simple as possible and have a rollback strategy in place. How you react to unexpected issues will make the difference between success and failure. Don’t demoralize a team working long hours by letting critical decisions hang or go unanswered. Make sure that everyone on the team is in the communication loop and has a stake in the project. By the same token, don’t be afraid to use the rollback strategy if unexpected events sabotage the timeline.

4.Reflection: is your most valuable tool. We all learn a lot after the project is over about what or how we might have done something differently. It is helpful to keep a written log during the project. The log can also be used as a tool after the project is over to figure out how things could have been improved. A post-project team meeting where all team members can contribute to the feedback is warranted and will produce valuable information from all stakeholders.

Project managers should take the time to learn from formal methodologies and utilize the help from mentors and other experienced project managers. In my humble estimation, though, there is no substitute for the “hands-on” approach to project management and planning. Regardless of the methodology or set of ideals you start out with, nothing will replace the amount of sweat, teamwork, hard work and personal involvement required to successful project management. You can reduce the number of problems and issues you deal with, however, by following these four simple guidelines.
