Yellow Toenails

Filed under: Health Info — admin @ 12:03 pm

Yellow toenails are usually a sign of trouble to come. Although harmless bacterial colonization can cause a color change in nails (usually green), and there is a rare condition called yellow nail syndrome, by far the most common cause of yellowish or brownish discoloration in the toenails is fungus infection. Many fungi produce colored pigments when they are growing well - Penicillium, for instance, the fungus that produces penicillin, commonly produces a deep green pigment. The fungi that like to grow in nails commonly produce yellowish or brownish colors.

To determine whether, in your case, a fungal infection is the reason for yellow toenails, you should visit your doctor and get a professional diagnosis. Since fungal nail infections are relatively common, your doctor will have seen yellow toenails before, and will be able to judge whether your nails are infected with fungus or whether you have some other problem that requires different treatment. If there is still doubt, a sample of your yellowish toenail can be taken and sent to the laboratory for testing.

Yellow toenails are not necessarily uniformly colored. Only some toenails may be affected - sometimes only one - and the fungus may only be growing in part of the nail, producing a yellow toenail streak. Untreated, infections that involve only part of the nail will usually spread to cover the whole nail, and generally advance towards the nail root over time. Once you know for sure that fungus is the reason for yellow toenails in your case, don’t delay treatment. Infections are more easily treated if they do not involve the lunula (the whitish crescent shaped area near the cuticle).

You will have to decide between various types of treatment for yellow toenails. Your doctor can prescribe an oral medication that is taken daily for a few months to a year to get rid of the infection. Many people avoid the oral prescription drugs because they are expensive, and because of the potential for unpleasant side effects. There is also a topical prescription nail lacquer that is painted on, but this can only be used for yellow toenails, or a yellow toenail streak that does not involve the lunula (the whitish crescent-shaped region near the cuticle).

Besides the prescription drugs, natural remedies probably work better than over the counter antifungals for yellow toenails and any yellow toenail streak. This is because topical ointments and lotions don’t get through the nail to kill the fungus. Natural and home remedies attempt to soften the nail for better penetration, and often contain natural ingredients that have been found to be effective against fungus. Some are even backed up by scientific study.

Use a Dildo for an Exciting Orgasm with your Husband

Filed under: Shopping Infos — admin @ 10:54 pm

Some gents have a perplexing time keeping a hard on and some women have incredibly long sex drives, meaning it takes the woman a really long time to come. Because of this difference in sex drives, intercourse will probably turn into an annoying and unsatisfying love making session. That’s why large dildos may be helpful. If the gent comes early in the love making session, or even if the female just takes longer than her lover, he can continue to penetrate the woman with the juicy dildo. That way all sexual play does not have to stop. It gives him plenty of time to recharge his batteries and keeps the lady stimulated. Consequently when the man is ready to come back into the sexual session, the girl will still be aroused enough to accept the boy.

Your most stimulation field is your thoughts. And as significantly as numerous feminists won’t admit this, the penis is a symbol of power, no matter how great or small, it is still associated with fertility. Penetrating your girl with a huge dildo may make a fantasy of power play reality.

Some folks enjoy the sensation of feeling full in their vagina or bottom. Whenever a sensual toy such as a huge dildo, penetrates the vagina or back passage, the muscles contract around it. Legions of females get the tightening of the above muscles to be remarkably enjoyable. Sex Toys will send you wild.

7 Suggestions for an i-Mom Friendly Web Site (e-commerce news and statistics)

Filed under: Commerce Compass — admin @ 6:58 pm

The Internet began as a male dominated medium, but those days are long gone and merchants are advised to make sure their websites are female friendly to faciliate the rising surge of busy i-Moms shopping online for their family and friends.

Women now account for 51.7% of Internet usage according to a 2005 Lucid marketing study but that’s only the tip of iceberg. When it comes to online purchasing, women are clearly leading the way. According to a Bizrate survey, women accounted for 62% of online purchases in the fourth quarter of 2004!

The above statistic shouldn’t be that surprising when we consider that women are busy household managers and make many financial decisions across the United States. According to Small Business Administration, “women currently make up 80 percent of consumer spending. They currently purchase more than half the automobiles that are sold in this country. They consistently purchase more groceries, apparel and durable goods than men and they have become the primary ones to make healthcare decisions in 75 percent of American households.”

Other research shows that women are less likely than men to use the Internet for entertainment purposes, but rather they are looking for information, household tips, low prices, and, especially, ease of use in purchasing online.

Merchant Strategy

The following seven recommendations will make your website a friendly home for busy moms online.

1. Make your website easy to navigate. A specific product should be easily found and only be a few clicks away from anywhere in the website.

2. Provide in-depth product information. The more product comparisons, reports and reviews you can add, the less likely they’ll leave your website to round out their research.

3. Provide quality graphics. Seeing and feeling is of course the best way to examine and test a product, but the shortage of time has trumped that luxury. A quality fast loading image is extremely desirable.

4. Offer a maximum selection. Whether in your store or on your website, this always makes sense.

5. Maintain competitive pricing. The Internet facilitates easy price comparisons, if your prices are too high, it won’t be a secret. Check the prices of your competitors.

6. Offer a variety of shipping options including gift wrapping. Women buy the great majority of family gifts. Merchants who gift wrap will get a lot of free advertising by word of mouth.

7. Offer excellent customer service. If there’s a problem, a return or a question, there’s nothing like a friendly voice by telephone.

Personal Story

During last Christmas, I noticed a tremendous scene. At my in-laws about 8 of us were sitting in the family room together. Some of the men were watching sports on television, others were chatting, while my wife, mother-in-law and daughter were online at three computer terminals on a long table in the same family room, all shopping for the holidays. They were comparing, giving each other advice, had their credit cards out, and were getting it done. Presents were being picked, wrapped and shipped all over the country. My mother-in-law gets the credit for realizing that she could keep the whole family together by moving the computers into one living area. Everyone was having a great time. Make your online store female friendly and you’ll receive a loyal clientele for years to come.

Dog training - Some Tips

Filed under: Puppies + Pets — admin @ 8:14 am

Dog training may seen like a daunting task. However, there is hope. Just remember to let the dog know that you are the master and he or she is not. Make sure that you speak in a tone that shows authority. Routine is crucial. If you keep these things in mind, you cannot go wrong.

When you bring that sweet little puppy home, you just want to let it do whatever it wants to do, because it is oh so cute. However, you must keep in mind that you are in charge, just as you would when you bring a child home from the hospital. Letting the puppy know that you are boss and what you say goes from the moment you bring him home will allow the puppy to see there are boundaries that are not to be crossed. Make sure that you start off with pointing, using gestures and body language that you will use consistently so that the dog will associate that motion with what he is to do.

Say it like you mean it. When you begin taking your dog for a walk or training him to stay in the yard, you must speak in a very firm authoritative tone. This is very important. If not, the dog may not know that you are serious or associate what you are saying with danger or discipline. Make sure that when you are going for a walk or asking the dog if he needs to go outside, you use a tone that shows excitement, something that he would want to do. This helps him differentiate between the firmness of you saying “stay” while looking to cross the street with his excitement to be outside and explore.

Routine is the key. Make sure that the gestures, the tone and the words that you use are consistent. Using the same routine will allow the puppy to adapt to his new surroundings and make him feel safe and secure, as well as help you feel more at ease knowing that your dog will obey. When taking the dog outside, always use the same door, so he knows that is where he is always to be when he needs to go outside. When you go to bed, use the same command or short phrase, so that he may recognize what time it is. Routine with dogs allows both of you to know what to expect and the dog will be far more likely to obey if he knows what is coming.

With all that said, have fun and enjoy the new member of your family! Training can be an exciting time and does not have to be frustrating. Go to the park on a sunny day and play while teaching him how to obey. Just remember to let him know, in love, who is boss!

Is Junk Food Killing You!

Filed under: Great Medical Tips — admin @ 7:31 pm

The statement above holds good for some of the very happening reasons. The mortality rates especially in the west are rapidly increasing due to the irregular and junk dietary patterns. Every region has its own specialty regarding the food styles. The concept of fast food has become very popular these days and therefore each one heartily consumes good and tasty food. These foods are made up of high level calories and carbohydrates which often lead to diseases like coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity etc.

The health authorities are nowadays actively taking measures to inculcate discipline regarding food habits. They are creating advertisements through the various channels such as radio, TV ads, billboards etc.

You need not necessarily consume a low fat diet, all you need to do is avoid the intake of junk foods. The foods with processed fats, hydrogenated fats, polyunsaturated oils that have been heated, and fats that are combined with junk carbohydrates are very harmful to the arteries and also make you obese. Therefore maximize the intake of natural food and have a balanced diet. The word natural means the foods that are unprocessed and made at home. The foods such as vegetables, cereals and pulses are rich in vitamin and fiber content and are necessary to keep you fit.

On the whole, avoid junk food altogether or consume it very moderately to keep your body in good shape always.

More Than Just a Logo: Creating Your Company’s Corporate Identity

Filed under: Top Brands — admin @ 7:22 pm

A client of mine once called after I had given a presentation to him about his company’s brand. He was calling to say we needed to change the shade of taupe we had all agreed upon for the firm’s logo.

I was surprised to hear this busy man talking taupe, convinced he had more important things to attend to. I found it particularly strange because just that day, he had approved the color scheme.

As the conversation progressed, he confessed that his wife didn’t like the color. She had experimented with that very shade of taupe for their living room curtains and hated it. Ignoring our strong suggestion to the contrary, the color was changed.

What does this 20 year old story have to do with anything? Most people think of branding as a pretty logo. Instead, branding embodies the entire customer experience, with the logo merely acting as the visual mark.

The brand experience should reflect the soul of the company. More important than whether or not you “really like” everything about it, your brand should represent your company’s “image attributes.”

Image attributes are adjectives and descriptive phrases that capture the essence of a company and their creative project. They describe the core values of an organization, the feeling that a brand should evoke or the essential goals of a Web site.

At the start of a project, I work with my clients to elucidate a set of brief terms to identify the basic precepts of their project. These image attributes become a list that we can all agree on, easy-to-remember reference points that help everyone on the team, both client and developer, stay on target throughout the process.

Developing them may be the most important exercise of the project, because it helps ensure that the final resultthe brand identity or Web siteembodies those descriptors. For every project, I have many levels of goals, but as long as my work reflects the image attributes on presentation day, I have done my job.

So what do image attributes have to do with my client’s wife who doesn’t like taupe? One of the most common mistakes in purchasing creative services is that clients judge results based on personal likes and dislikes.

Unlike choosing a curtain color for your living room or buying artwork for the space over your fireplace, creative choices related to business have nothing to do with your (or your spouse’s!) personal preferences. They have everything to do with solving your business problems and improving your customers’ experience.

Many clients think they have to “like” the artwork that creative services firms produce for them. But what if those clients’ likes and dislikes don’t line up with their corporate needs? What if they aren’t qualified to determine what works visually for their firm? By agreeing on image attributes that will guide and gauge the outcome of an assignment, we assure ourselves that the end result achieves the business goals that we set at the beginning.

Look at brands that work: Coke, Nike, Apple Computer; their brands on packaging and products, Web sites and brochures, carry a simple, compelling visual message that elicit very specific feelings in their audience. Whether or not people like the red used in the Coke lettering or the simple apple icon used by Apple Computer, they are compelling and significant icons that evoke strong recognition and often positive feeling.

That’s what a brand is about: embodying the attributes of your company or product. Everything else is window dressing.

The 5 Winning Beliefs To Accomplish Anything In Life

Filed under: Miscellany — admin @ 7:39 pm

A more positive future, a happier life, a body that’s in better shape or a wealthier mind begins by a winning belief system. Beliefs shape our destiny and the more supporting they are, the more we are able to achieve our goals.

Positive beliefs, like “I can do it” “I have tremendous resources to succeed” have been formed through experiences, especially during your childhood. In the same way, negative or limiting beliefs, like “I’m worthless” “I don’t deserve to succeed” “I don’t have the permission to succeed” have been formed at an early age.

To succeed at any endeavor, you need to develop and maintain five powerful beliefs.

You need to literally transform these limiting beliefs and sure you can, because as they have been learned (through experiences, ideas…), they can be unlearned, restructured and changed.

Ask, ponder and integrate the answers to the five following key questions. For each statement, rate your degree of belief from 1 to 5.

1. Do I deserve it?
This has to do with you. This has to do with your feelings of self-worth. “Do I deserve, do I have the permission to be a millionaire?” “Do I have the permission to remain centered, instead of stressed and depressed” Feel this question in your entire body. This is an essential step that your whole body and mind need to accept and integrate.

2. Am I capable of doing it?
This next part concerns your plan that you’ve outlined to achieve your goal. “Am I capable of taking appropriate action, following the different steps I set up to succeed?” Once you’ve answered that question affirmatively, integrate this in your body and mind. You don’t only need to know it cognitively but also emotionally. Your body is not just made up of a cognitive mind, but with emotions and feelings and the whole system needs to accept it.

3. Is it appropriate for me?
This has to do with the actions and behaviors themselves. “Are the actions and behaviors I need to take appropriate?” This is an important question. The actions and behaviors need to be ethical, practical and down-to-earth. Evaluate and decide if your actions are appropriate. If not, change them. You don’t only want to set goals in your life, you want to become congruent and live in harmony with your core values.

4. Is it possible?
Here we need to look at the path to reach your goal. “Am I convinced that it is possible to achieve my goal with these appropriate steps?” The path may be long or difficult. You need to build a strong belief that it is possible to follow the path that leads to great success. You need to persist and never give up when it becomes tough.

5. Is the outcome desirable?
This point analyses the outcome itself. “Is the goal in harmony with who I am?” Again, this is a congruency issue. Define the big reason why of this goal and you will find that what you really want is truly desirable.

There are five basic elements to reach any outcome: you, the plan, the actions and behaviors, the path and the outcome itself. The belief you will develop for each element will form a winning belief system that will empower you in achieving anything you really want out of life.

If you’re not happy with the results you have, consider the following questions. First, what else do I have to know, believe or do in order to be more confident? Second, do I have a mentor that can help me for this particular belief? Third, what advice or message would my mentor give to me?

In doing that for each of the five core beliefs to attaining any goal, you will build high level of self-confidence.

These winning beliefs will give you more self-esteem and you will soon become unstoppable.

Anatomy of a Product: From an Idea to Reality

Filed under: Business World — admin @ 6:05 pm

What does it take to turn an idea into a product? How can I realize financial gain from my idea? Where do I start? These and many other questions swirl around would-be inventors and entrepreneurs as they seek to bring new products and services to market. The process can seem daunting for anyone making a first attempt and confronting the typical hurdles and roadblocks the marketplace utilizes to cull the field.

I look at hundreds of products each year and have done so for almost 30 years. The ideas that succeed invariably consist of the same basic elements.

One, an entrepreneur with passion, a realistic view of the opportunity they have created and a flexible attitude to the inevitable critique and changes the original concept will undergo. The world is full of dreamers. Successful entrepreneurs work non-stop in pursuit of their well-designed goals.

Two, a new product or service concept that fills an identifiable market niche. The niche can be a completely new product category (think Windows, XM Radio, E-Bay) or a small piece of a vast, mature market segment (Sam Adams Beer, Coach, George Foreman Grille). The Unique Selling Proposition is the element that enables the product to be positioned as an advance, offering different, improved features and benefits. The world doesn’t need another mousetrap, unless, you can prove a method to catch more mice.

Three, before running off to a Patent Attorney, display or discuss the opportunity with family, friend’s, co-workers you trust. Would they buy if available? How much would they pay? What don’t they like about the widget? Any improvements they might suggest? This is a form of micro-test market. Also, search the inter-net, United States Patent and Trademark Office, visit stores and diligently study the competition. If you feel confident that the market is not offering anything like your concept then you potentially have a significant commercial opportunity and should seek copyright, patent and trademark advice.

There are many ways to proceed. You can attempt to self-market your idea. There are numerous reputable consulting firms that can offer comprehensive services. Many colleges and state and local governments offer small business incubators and can be an excellent resource. A caution, though. The late night infomercial selling patent services that will make you rich is always a fraud. Ask for references and products currently on the market as proof that you are dealing with professionals, not charlatans.

The hardest question for many inventors to confront: How to harvest financial benefits from their invention? Licensing, self-marketing the product, funding, partnership, strategic alliance or outright sale of the opportunity are among the options to be considered. Typically, the inventors background, experience, interest and financial realities make the choice more obvious. It is usually good to have professional guidance when weighing appropriate strategies for harvesting income from a project.

A working model or a production quality prototype of the piece will be essential in researching manufacturing, costing production and for presentations. Do not cut corners here. Be as professional and thorough as possible in displaying the unique performance benefits and features of the product. You only get one chance to make a strong first impression.

A customized Business Plan or Offering Document will be crucial in successfully presenting the product for consideration. Decision-makers typically see many, many products each year. You need to stand out and that requires an exciting plan. Do not buy a Business Plan template off of the inter-net and fill in the blanks. It will not be read. Make the document as exciting as your product.

The steps reviewed above typically result in a thinning of the new product herd. In order to successfully place a service or product in this very aggressive, cluttered marketplace no shortcuts are tolerated. Inventors, entrepreneurs and small businesses are an amazing breed and a valued national asset. The wealth created and generated by this group of idea pioneers is the American economic difference maker. There has never been a greater time or place to launch that needed new product, and the rewards have never been greater.
