Leaflet Distribution part of the direct marketing mix

Filed under: Advertising, Business World — admin @ 11:32 am

Keep in mind is that no one knows your target market like you do; direct marketing or leaflet distribution is attractive to many marketers, because in many cases its positive effect can be measured directly. Due to this, expenditure on leaflet distribution keep rising and over 15 billion leaflets will be distributed annually to UK letterboxes this year. A leaflet gives you a chance to put across your argument and to draw attention to your organisation, cause or event. Leaflet distribution lets you present your ideas to people and enables you to sell your products are services on this own without the clutter of other ads. If your product is designed to appeal to a general market and you want to focus on a very specific area, door-drop advertising is a good, inexpensive way of reaching your target market. Even you remember that the results of leaflet distribution aren’t guaranteed and a poorly planned or targeted campaign will be a waste of money. If you’re blanketing or canvassing an area, using the postal service is a possible alternative to organising your own door-to-door distribution. For a return on your investment, always prepare your materials carefully. Ensure materials look professional and contain clear, useful information.

Goblet of Fire - The Best Harry Potter of Them All

Filed under: Entertainment Events — admin @ 4:25 am

Goblet of
Fire
earned more than $100 in its first 3 days.
Officially it became the fourth movie in history to earn that
much in its initial days of showing, just behind Star Wars,
James Bond and Lord of the Rings series. Though all the previous
Harry Potter films went on to top a quarter-billion dollars in
ticket sales, the new Potter movie outpaced them all. Hollywood
is now hoping that the new Harry Potter would somehow pull up
the movie industry that is currently suffering from sluggish
sales. Harry Potter fans seem to like most Harry’s performance
during a triwizard tournament with its spectacular
cinematography, and his encounter with the evil Voldemort. Many
of them claim the Goblet of Fire is by far the best of the
Potter series. The current film is much darker than the last
two. This is also the first Harry Potter film that did not
receive a PG rating. Instead, it earned a PG-13 rating due to
its ominous theme. Nonetheless, wizardry fans are screaming with
obvious delight. Although many of the subplots from the 734-page
book were dropped, none of the fans are complaining.

One of the fans said he liked the subtlety of the story. Another
said the film has a good moral for the young people, specially
when the young Potter chose to help others even at a great risk
to himself.

With the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter
hasn’t yet lost his charm among moviegoers, though he’s
obviously grown older and starting to struggle with love.
Perhaps it because his fans are growing up with him, and they
all want to see what series of events would happen next to him.
Even adults are anxious about what the new movies brings.
According to the movie’s distributor Warner Bros., 38% of the
moviegoers who went to see the Potter film were adults without
children.

Trading Range Week

Filed under: Internet Investment — admin @ 3:24 am

SPX fell sharply Fri on slightly stronger than expected employment reports. Short-term technical indicators suggest a trading range next week. Financial markets will be closed Apr 14th for Good Friday, and the week after next is options expiration week. However, after the next week or two, a steep downtrend may take place, since most intermediate-term technical indicators remain market bearish and the market is overvalued.

The chart below is an SPX four-month daily chart, since early Dec, with indicators. SPX closed Fri below the 20-day MA for the first time in a month, after rising to the daily upper Bollinger Band Fri morning. Moreover, SPX held the bullish flag low at 1,292, which is significant support. A fall below 1,292 may accelerate selling. However, 1,292 may hold short-term, because there are further support levels at the 50-day MA and daily lower Bollinger Band, currently roughly 1,288 and 1,289.

The ADX indicator shows little buying and little selling by large institutions, which can generate big market moves. However, there has been a little profit taking recently, along with short-selling and short-covering. Currently, the ADX green and red lines are roughly equal, while the generally flat ADX black line indicates a trendless market. Large institutions are holding, perhaps waiting for earnings guidance in Apr.

The NYSE Oscillator indicator (NYMO) continues to suggest SPX will be much lower within two months. The NYMO 50-day MA rose above 25 in early Jan and closed at negative 4 1/2 Fri. Typically, when the NYMO 50-day MA rises above 25, it will fall to negative 25. Also, the second half of the NYMO 50-day MA downtrend is more market bearish. However, two other indicators (not shown) have had somewhat offsetting effects, i.e. the moderately to severely market bullish CBOE Put/Call and the extremely market bearish VIX 200-day MA, which are affecting SPX direction. The daily NYMO closed below negative 36 1/2 Fri, which suggests an SPX upward biased next week.

There are many potential catalysts that can cause a steep market decline, e.g. slowing earnings growth, a deflating housing bubble (which will create a negative Wealth Effect to slow consumption growth), high debt levels, and a low saving rate. Moreover, there are signs of economic strain, e.g. rising employment and higher capacity utilization, which will intensify when the trade imbalance narrows, i.e. export growth rises and import growth falls, or both the current and capital accounts narrow, which will slow growth in the domestic goods market and slow foreign capital inflows, which will contribute to inflation. Financial markets seem focused on when the monetary tightening cycle will end rather than other potential crises.

Ginseng Tea

Filed under: World Of Nutrition — admin @ 4:32 pm

The Chinese have been using ginseng tea for their health for thousands of years. Experts in Chinese medicine recommend that it should be drunk daily or whenever one is feeling unwell. However, it should only be a secondary boost to health and not used as a primary form of cure for any illnesses. It should be used for maintaining health and not curing diseases or illnesses.

It was discovered that the weather and soil conditions of the United States and Canada are suitable for growing ginseng. As a result, there have been great exports of ginseng to China or overseas Chinese communities, as well as Korea.

The principle ingredients of American ginseng tea are panax quinquefolium, herbal lysimachiae and radix glycyrrhizae. American ginseng is gown in North America, in the temperate belts like Wisconsin. American ginseng is sometimes referred to as quinquefolium. Ginseng tea is probably the most popular use for Wisconsin ginseng.

The tea can be made from the whole root, slices, ginseng tea cut or ginseng tea bags. When using the whole root for cooking or ginseng tea, it is often sliced or broken into smaller pieces so that it does not have to simmer for long. The ginseng slices are very popular, because they have already been sliced into thinner pieces and are ready for use.

When making ginseng tea, it usually takes about 2-3 grams of ginseng per cup of tea. This is about 5-8 slices, about 1 teaspoon of ginseng tea cut or powder, or one tea bag. Ginseng tea is very simple to prepare. Just add the ginseng to hot water and allow it to steep for about 4-5 minutes, or as long as you like, depending on how “”strong”" you like tea. The ginseng can usually be reused for about 2-3 cups of tea and then eaten if desired.

Clarity

Filed under: Hall Of Management — admin @ 1:52 pm

Before you begin a thing, remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to foresee are ahead. You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal. Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin. (Kathleen Norris)

If we are ever in doubt about what to do, it is a good rule to ask ourselves what we shall wish on the morrow that we had done. (John Lubbock)

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them. (Denis Waitley)

We can be our own worst enemy at times.
How often can you see that it was you who actually got in your own way on the path to fulfilling a goal?

It was usually only a thought that got in the way! Something that you made up…so, you could make up something else.
A replacement thought that empowers you.

Write down as many of the discouraging thoughts that you can recall, from those times you actually stopped yourself.
Alongside each of these, record a replacement thought that really gives you some power.

What could you put in place so that you remember to replace your negative thoughts with an empowering thought?
An automatic pop up on your computer screen?
A colourful card sitting up on your desk or pasted to the front of your diary?

Most days we say some horrid things to ourselves and we aren’t even conscious that the tape is playing!

Consider also, the people with whom you surround yourself.
Are there people with whom you could spend more time?
Are there people with whom you could spend less time?

Lastly, when exploring your 2004 New Year resolutions - here are a few pointers to send you on your way:

Are your intented outcomes crystal clear to you and do you have them somewhere on display for yourself - in words or images?
Do you have powerful reasons for wanting to accomplishing your chosen goals?

Make a practice of writing down your 6 top priority goals, daily.
It is worth those extra 5 minutes each day - recreating your desire for reaching that next stepping stone.

Are your New Year resolutions feasible?
Are the deadlines too tight? Could your goals be broken down into bite sized chunks (i.e. milestones along the way).
You may easily become discouraged if your goals seems impossible to achieve. This can chip away at your confidence in going after what you want.
A strong belief in your goals is mandatory.

Have you put something in place to really celebrate each milestone victory, great or small?
This will expand your personal confidence. Reward the source of your results.

Reflexology Schools

Filed under: Travel Tips — admin @ 3:39 pm

Training students in reflexology therapy, reflexology schools base their instruction and curriculum on an ancient art and science involving zones of the feet and hands. Reflexology schools teach students how to identify corresponding regions of these zones with relation to particular bodily systems; and how to accurately facilitate pressure points to relieve or reduce health problems.

Students who attend reflexology schools can expect to get training in how to reduce stress with specific finger, hand and thumb pressure techniques. In addition, reflexology students will learn more specifically, how real physiological improvements can be created through the precision application of reflexology.

While some states require massage licensing for reflexology school graduates, most do not; therefore, depending on individual schools and curriculums, licenses may or may not be required upon completion.

Some students may choose to earn a certificate in reflexology. Most reflexology schools that offer certificate programming may include curriculum and training regarding foot, hand and ear reflexology basics and techniques; theoretical approaches to reflexology; concept of meridians; proper alignment exercises; leg and foot anatomy; and many other relative educational programs.

Choosing A Lawyer

Filed under: Legal — admin @ 12:14 pm

Obtaining a lawyer is a funny thing. Everybody has a lawyer, but no one admits to needing a lawyer. Attorneys for any type of case you, or your friend, might need, are not hard to find. A simple search on the internet will show a wide variety of criminal and civil lawyers. The key is to find a good attorney who will put your case first and handle it aggressively for an acceptable outcome. And you need to obtain one in your state because if a crime has been committed, the lawyer needs to be current on the individual state laws and statutes concerning it. A lawyer from another state would not be familiar with another states’ laws. And, keep in mind, you cannot be convicted of a crime that has not been identified and/or is not in the statutes, so the attorney must be up on those.

Though it is not against the law for you to try your own cases, in most cases, it is necessary to obtain a lawyer. Your attorney must be up-to-date on your charges and any changes that the courts present. To find legal services that are aggressive, informative and knowledgeable for your case, here are some main points to consider:

1) Find out how long they have been practicing law. This will give you an idea as to their familiarity with state laws, courthouses, and the judges. Very Important.

2) See if they are Board Certified by the Bar in their state of practice.

3) Do they routinely handle cases in this system, so they are familiar with procedures, etc.?

4) Check to find out if they have a good reputation among the other attorneys or the general public.

5) Look to see if he/she carries malpractice insurance, just as a safe guard.

6) Take advantage of a free consultation in order to meet and discuss the charges. Determine their “specialty” areas. They are called “specialties” for a reason.

7) Most importantly, make clear the total fee expected, how much do they want up front, and what would the payments be. You certainly do not want to have discrepancies with your lawyer on fees.

Physical Wellness: Our Most Precious Possession

Filed under: Templates Center — admin @ 10:38 am

What would you consider to be your most precious possession?
Your home? Car? Book collection? What about … your body? It is
surely your most precious possession because without it, you
wouldn’t be here.

How well do you care for your body? Do you exercise every day,
eat healthful foods, drink enough water, get adequate sleep?
Don’t worry, I’m not going to turn this into a big sermon,
because I’ve been just as guilty of not giving my body the care
and attention it deserves. A large majority of us are. We live
in an age of high stress, fast pace, and abundant convenience
foods. For those of us who only need to walk a few paces from
our desk to the kitchen, the temptation for snacking is even
greater. Who has time to exercise and prepare balanced meals?

However, it’s important to realize that neglecting our physical
well-being can profoundly affect us mentally and spiritually.
The Mind/Body/Spirit connection is strong. If we neglect one
area, the others will suffer also. The goal should be to achieve
a nice, even balance between all three. I’m learning that it’s
not as hard as it seems. It just takes a little effort.

My biggest mistake over the past several years was believing
that proper care of my body would take a massive amount of time.
“I’m too busy to exercise. I don’t have time to cook decent
meals, I’ll just grab something quick. I have too much to do, so
I can’t get a full night’s sleep.” But by shunning my physical
well-being, I found myself not able to be as productive and
efficient in other areas. I had little energy, I couldn’t
concentrate, and generally felt rotten all the time.

Caring for our bodies doesn’t have to take a lot of time. In
fact, by focusing more attention on my physical health lately, I
would venture to say that I’m gaining time, because my focus and
energy level are so much better, and I get a lot more done
during the day. I also sleep better at night, another bonus!

You might be wondering just how much time and effort is
required? Here are the things I’ve been doing for myself
recently:

Exercise - For me, that was the biggest obstacle because I tend
to get lazy. ;-) Once I sit down at my desk, I’m glued to it all
day. If I don’t exercise first thing in the morning, I will keep
putting it off. So I started doing my workout immediately after
I wake up. I spend about 30-60 minutes on aerobic activity
(walking), and some light weight training. I had to push myself
at first, but now that I’m getting into the habit I’m feeling
stronger and even starting to look forward to my workouts every
morning. If you tend to procrastinate about exercise like I did,
try making it your first priority when you wake up, and then you
have the rest of the day to do whatever else needs to be done.

Food - I have always been a “junk food junky.” It wasn’t that I
preferred that type of food, it just seemed more convenient.
However, I finally realized that raw vegetables and fruit can be
“fast foods” too! ;-) I also began eliminating sugar for the
most part, and switched to whole grains instead of white, highly
processed foods (like pasta, bread and rice). I try to eat more
whole foods, because who needs all those chemicals they put in
processed foods? Instead of snacking on some potato chips, why
not have some nuts, seeds, fruit or vegetables? They don’t take
any longer to prepare.

Water - I also began drinking several glasses of water
throughout the day, and immediately began to feel better. Did
you know that the most common symptoms of dehydration are
fatigue, lethargy, muscle weakness, headaches, dizziness and
forgetfulness? That sure described me, and it’s no wonder, since
I was drinking mostly coffee and soda pop! Upping my water
intake made a huge difference in my energy level and mental
focus. You don’t have to drink gallons of water, just a few tall
glasses a day should be an improvement.

Rest - I’m one of those people who really needs a full eight
hours of sleep every night or I get cranky. Some people can get
along on less sleep, but most of us are still getting less than
our bodies truly need. You may think that getting less sleep
will enable you to get more done, but think about it: if you
don’t get enough sleep, you will be dragging yourself through
the day and have to concentrate harder on your work, because
your mind just wants to rest. But if you devote a full eight
hours (or however much you personally need) to sleep, you will
feel much more energetic and focused during the day, and be able
to accomplish just as much, if not more.

There, that doesn’t sound so hard, does it? :-) It’s really just
a matter of creating new, healthier habits to replace the old
habits. Sure, exercise does take some time, but again, it can
make such a huge difference in your energy level. Make time. We
need to make an effort to care for our beautiful bodies, because
we only get one! They truly are our most precious possession,
and if we don’t care for them, who else will?

Wishing you abundant health and wellness!

Toenail Fungus Remedies

Filed under: Health Info — admin @ 9:53 am

Toenail fungus remedies range from surgical removal of infected nails to simple application of an everyday substance thought to have some antifungal properties. Many people search for a traditional treatment, or a natural product because the prescription drugs are very expensive, or because they have heard that the prescription drugs have unpleasant and dangerous side effects. Fortunately, there are many such alternatives that they can try.

Toenail fungus remedies are fickle however, and fungus toenail home remedy is no exception. Most treatments seem to have as many failures as they do successes, and it is unclear why. It could be because not all fungal nail infections are caused by the same fungus: perhaps remedies tend to work on some fungi but not on others. It is also true that, while some people are very focused on the treatment and follow instructions very carefully, other people have busy lives and little time, or they give up too soon, or they don’t use the treatment correctly. If you doubt your ability to stick with it, but you can’t stomach the idea of opting for a prescription drug, you could try a holistic remedy for toenail fungus.

The holistic toenail fungus remedies rely on a variety of substances from nature that are thought to have antifungal properties. There is some scientific evidence in support of a fungus toenail home remedy that uses some these natural substances. Some examples are Pau d’Arco, a tea made from the inner bark of the Brazilian LaPacho tree; and Tea tree oil, an essential oil derived from the leaves and stems of the Australian Tea tree. Tea tree oil is a common ingredient in a holistic remedy for toenail fungus.

A holistic remedy for toenail fungus is usually applied topically, although a few are oral toenail fungus remedies (Pau d’Arco can be enjoyed as tea, or you can soak in it, or both). Tea tree oil is always used topically - it should never be taken by mouth - but it may be combined with an oral preparation. If your chosen fungus toenail home remedy promises a quick cure, remember that toenails grow very slowly and your fungal nail infection will not be both gone and forgotten until the whole nail grows out and is replaced by beautiful health nail. Choose a treatment you think you can stay with for the long term, and get busy.

How to be a Good Listener of your Wife’s Heart

Filed under: Relationships + More — admin @ 8:57 am

Feeling like you are not heard or misunderstood is one of the fastest paths to loneliness. When we don’t believe that another person really knows or understands our heart we can get lost in a crowd, feeling all alone. Many men who struggle to connect with their wives will know exactly what I am talking about; this may be his daily experience. Tragically, it is also likely that he may feel alone and misunderstood in his marriage. As a man in recovery learns how to communicate his heart to his wife, it is extremely important that you first listen to hers. This will begin to strengthen the connection between you and hopefully soften each others’ hearts. To go bounding in, expecting her to just listen to you, while you have not listened to her, may become a set-up to recreate the wound that makes you feel so alone and insignificant.

This is not an article about communication tools or how to communicate (read those too). My primary focus is to encourage you to understand and connect with your wife’s heart and not just what she intends to communicate; her heart is deeper than that. That is not to say that communication in and of itself cannot be intimate, but you can at times connect at the heart without needing the rules of healthy communication, or even a word.

Likely there are times that your wife will repeat herself. This is both an opportunity and a signal. If your wife is repeating herself, most likely she is signaling that she is not feeling “heard” or connected to you. This can be an opportunity once you recognize the signal because now you know you have probably missed it. You can clarify her intended message but her heart needs to be “held.” You may do this simply by holding her. An empathetic word or touch can go a long way. Of course there may be times when a hug is not appropriate. If she doesn’t want you to touch her, maybe she is angry with you, make extra efforts to empathize with her by listening respectfully. The expression on your face may say to her if you care or not.

Another way to “hear” your wife’s heart is to watch for it. When you first started dating, you may have made an effort to notice things she likes and dislikes. Do this again but in deeper ways. Get to know more fully what makes her happy, sad, what her dreams are, etc. When you know these things, never stop looking for them and use them to exhort and encourage her.

When she is upset after a phone call from her parents - “I know how devastating it is for you when your dad disregards you feelings. Do you want to talk about it?”

When she is screaming at you - “If I hadn’t had my mind so focused on work, I would have remembered how important it is for you that I remember the anniversary of your father’s death; I know it makes you feel important to me.”

When she won’t say a word to you - “I know when you won’t talk to me you are usually hurt. I would love to talk about it when you are ready.”

Don’t always wait for the difficult moments to engage her, engage her in the easy ones. It may seem too simple to start dating her again, but it isn’t. First, it will be difficult to date her again consistently. Second, it may not be complex, but it got you a wife the first time. Just like you hopefully do with your kids, look for connecting moments to share. Just as Mary Magdalene poured her precious perfumes over Jesus’ feet, treat her extravagantly. Extravagance is not about money, although some of you who may be scrooges will have to loosen up a bit; it is about time, affection, and serving. As you get moving, she will be on your mind more and it will be easier and more rewarding to continue. You will remember what you once knew about her and learn what you never knew.

When you rebuild the connection between your hearts, it takes time for her to be able to trust it. Many men will come to realize they never “heard” their wives before. Take heart, things may be rough in your marriage right now, but to know and connect with your wife in deeper ways than you have ever known - the best years may be yet ahead of you.
